Day 1

Arrival in Kathmandu ( 1,400 meters)

Upon arrival at Kathmandu Tribhuvan International Airport, you will be welcomed at the airport by our representative and transferred to your hotel by private vehicle. After settling into the deluxe hotel in Kathmandu, you will have a welcome drink, followed by a briefing with your tour leader. The leader will discuss trip details and co-ordinate any last-minute arrangements. Enjoy your overnight stay in Kathmandu.

Day 2

Trek to Chisapani (2,215 meters),

  • Drive: 45 minutes from Kathmandu to Sundarijal
  • Trek: 5-6 hours through the Shivapuri National Park
  • The trail ascends through a forested area and past small villages.
  •  Enjoy views of the Kathmandu Valley below and the Himalayas in the distance.
  • Highlights: Waterfalls, lush greenery, and rural village life.
  • Overnight: Tea house in Chisapani
Day 3

Trek Chisapani to Kutumsang (2,470 meters)

  • Trek: 6-7 hours
  • The trail passes through dense forests of rhododendron, oak, and bamboo.
  •  Cross small streams and ascend to larger settlements.
  • Highlights: Spectacular views of snow-capped peaks including Langtang, Ganesh Himal, and Dorje Lakpa.
  • Overnight: Tea house in Kutumsang
Day 4

Trek from Kutumsang to Mangegoth ( 3240 meters )

  • Trek: 3-4 hours
  • A steady ascent through terraced fields and alpine meadows.
  • Witness the changing landscape as you trek higher, with panoramic views of the Langtang range.
  • Overnight: Tea house in Mangegoth
Day 5

Trek to Thadepati (3,650 meters), for 360-Degree Himalayan Views and Back to Kutumsang

  • Trek: 6-7 hours
  • Reach Thadepati (3,650m), a high point with unparalleled views of the Langtang, Jugal, and Gauri Shankar ranges.
  • After taking in the breathtaking 360-degree views, descend back to Kutumsang.
  • Highlights: Majestic Himalayan peaks, wildlife sightings, and serene trekking paths.
  • Overnight: Tea house in Kutumsang
Day 6

Drive from Kutumsang to Kathmandu by Jeep and Visit Bauddhanath

  • Drive: 5-6 hours by jeep
  •  Descend through rural villages and terraced hillsides.
  • Reach Kathmandu in the afternoon.
  • Visit: Bauddhanath Stupa, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
  • Explore one of the largest stupas in the world, surrounded by Tibetan monasteries.
  • Immerse yourself in the rich cultural and spiritual atmosphere.

Service Learning at Moonlight School – Cultural and Educational Exchange

The recommended Service Learning at Moonlight School – Cultural and Educational Exchange program:

International students engage in a hands-on service project at Moonlight School, working with Nepali students (aged 4-10). This initiative fosters cross-cultural exchange, enhances education, and makes a positive impact on the local community.

Project Highlights:

  1. Classroom Engagement
    Small groups (6-7 students) rotate through classrooms, teaching core subjects and introducing creative ones (e.g., Computer, Music, Art).
  2. Structured Sessions
    Each session lasts 35 minutes, followed by a 5-minute break, allowing students to explore diverse subjects.
  3. Creative Activities
    Activities like role-playing, problem-solving, and storytelling promote critical thinking and collaboration.
  4. Cultural Exchange
    Shared meals and playground activities foster mutual understanding and friendship. Letter exchanges before and after the trip help build lasting connections.

Day 8

Fly back to your onward destination

The Moonlight Nepal Trekking and Adventure team will take you to the airport for your flight home.
Alternatively, if your flight is scheduled for the evening, you have the option to either spend more time with the Moonlight School or explore the city through sightseeing and shopping during the day. We will arrange for your airport drop-off three hours before your departure time.

 

  • Throughout the trek, trekkers pass through several traditional villages inhabited by Tamang and Sherpa communities. These villages offer a glimpse into the local way of life, with their distinct culture, architecture, and warm hospitality.
  • Reach the highest point of the trek at Thadepati ((3,650m) , where you’ll enjoy an incredible 360-degree panorama of the Langtang, Jugal, and Gauri Shankar mountain ranges. This vantage point offers a truly awe-inspiring view of the Himalayas.
  • Visit Bauddhanath Stupa (UNESCO World Heritage) , one of the largest and most significant Buddhist monuments in the world. Explore the rich history and spiritual significance of this UNESCO World Heritage Site, set in a vibrant area filled with monasteries and Nepali and Tibetan culture.
